Our Approach to Graduate Programs Beyond Law
Barrier Breakers supports students pursuing a wide range of graduate and professional pathways. While we provide in-house law school admissions advising, many other graduate programs require highly specialized, field-specific expertise.
To ensure students receive the most accurate, ethical, and up-to-date guidance possible, Barrier Breakers partners with a trusted network of independent graduate admissions consultants for select graduate pathways outside of law.
This referral-based model allows us to:
-
Maintain high standards of advising quality
-
Avoid conflicts of interest or overextension
-
Ensure students are supported by specialists in their chosen field
Regardless of how graduate admissions advising is delivered, Barrier Breakers remains involved through mentorship, wellness check-ins, and long-term guidance throughout graduate school and early career transitions.

How Referrals Work for Students
When a student’s goals include a graduate pathway supported through referral partners:
1. Barrier Breakers works with the student to clarify goals, readiness and timeline.
2. We identify appropriate referral partners based on expertise and fit
3. Students engage directly with the referred advisor for admissions strategy and application support
4. Barrier Breakers continues providing mentorship, wellness check-ins, and long-term support throughout the student’s graduate journey
This model ensures students benefit from both specialized admissions expertise and consistent relational support.
Becoming a Barrier Breakers Referral Partner
Barrier Breakers is open to building relationships with additional graduate admissions consultants who are aligned with our mission and values.
We are particularly interested in partners who:
-
Specialize in graduate or professional school admissions outside of law
-
Demonstrate ethical, student-centered advising practices
-
Are open to supporting first-generation and low-income students
-
Offer flexible pricing, sliding-scale options, or pro bono capacity
Referral partnerships are selective and reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Our Commitment to Students
Our referral model is designed to put students first.
By partnering with trusted specialists — while remaining actively involved in students’ lives — Barrier Breakers ensures first-generation students are never navigating graduate education alone, even when admissions advising is delivered through a referral partner.
